Launched in 2001, the .NAME generic domain name extension is the single TLD planned for personal sites only. These domain names can include personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are famous by. Initially, just 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you planned to buy john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already taken 3rd-level names remained active.

Through our company, you can register your dot NAME domain for a time interval between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to edit the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer key from the present registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been finalized. There are no special rules on who can reserve a dot NAME domain, but in order to maintain the concept behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
